Wiles won an award in April for 'Eye of Reflection' in the Wilmington Art Association Spring show as part of the Wilmington Azalea Festival, held North Carolina. This same image also won an award in March from the Photographic Society of America's (PSA EID) International Competitions.
Mrs. Wiles 'Joy of the Dance' image was published by North Carolina's 'Our State' Magazine for their featured tarheel image.
'Joy of the Dance' and 'Cypress Waltz' were also featured at the Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington, North Carolina as part of the Lower Cape Fear Exhibition and represented as part of the Cape Fear Camera Club.
'Cypress Waltz' won an award in the Fall Show of the Waccamaw Art Association in November of 2013.
She received First Place in the Waccamaw Art Association of South Carolina for her image 'On the Prowl,' and also received another award for the same image from the Photographic Society of America (PSA EID) National Division.
She won a Pender Pines Photography Competition held in Hampstead, North Carolina for her beautiful image 'Unveiling Life.'
The 'Dawn of New Year' image was awarded an award in the WAA's Juried Spring Art Competition in Wilmington, North Carolina. This print and others have won many art competitions in years passed. Karen's favorite image at present remains 'When a Woman Dreams' and her new 'Moon Dance' is running a close second in people's choice.
