Description
THE LOG WALTZ by KAREN WILES
Capturing the image of two waltzing turtles on a river bank old oak log was not an easy task. I am not the most coordinated photographer in the world and this shot proved just that. For as soon as I clicked this shot, I slipped in the mud and all that was seen above water was my waving camera being held high so as not to get it wet. I felt sure the two turtles had a great chuckle at the photographer who just had to get the shot at any cost...At least I did get a great capture, the detail in the log is amazing even in a very large format...

Thank you Joe! I did save the camera of course, covered in mud up to my eyeballs, but not a drop on the camera. lol...

Funny story Karen. Save the camera at all costs. Turtles slip off logs rather quickly when someone approaches closely.

That is a great shot, worth the dunking. Wonderful positioning of the light on the water. /l

WOW!! I'd say "well-worth the slippery slide down into the muddy water, Karen!" because this is absolutely magnificent light and texture. I want stop on every image to comment -- but will suffice it for the moment to say that you have an incredible artistic and intuitive style! l/f
